Last Friday, the Produce Traceability Initiative Steering Committee led by Chair Cathy Green, president of Food Lion, met in Dallas, Texas, to evaluate progress, discuss member feedback, and prioritize next steps.
Because of the importance that this initiative has for all sectors of our membership and the consuming public, I wanted to share with you directly the press release developed by PMA, UFPA, CPMA and GS1 US for distribution today. Our associations and the members of the committee reaffirmed our strong support of this vital initiative and will be making changes to its governance to better serve all stakeholders.
